Accounting Specialist (AR Focus) | $27-$30/hr | Contract-to-Hire

Our long-term client is seeking an Accounting Specialist who can take ownership of the Accounts Receivable process while building strong relationships with customers and supporting a growing accounting team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys problem-solving, investigating discrepancies, communicating with customers, and making a direct impact on business operations. You'll start with a strong AR focus and have the opportunity to expand into AP, sales tax, and broader accounting responsibilities over time.

What You'll Do

• Apply and post customer payments
• Research and resolve account discrepancies
• Manage collections through professional phone and email communication
• Prepare customer billing summaries and statements
• Support vendor invoice processing and AP functions
• Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and accounting projects
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of AR, bookkeeping, or accounting experience
• Experience with cash applications, collections, and reconciliations
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Basic Excel skills and comfort learning new systems
• Bookkeeping, AP, QuickBooks, and sales tax experience are all a plus, but not required
